Prayer: Come Holy Spirit and abide in me

It is very important to open our heart and allow the Holy Spirit to work through us, to activate the gifts that we need to do God’s will, to give us actual graces, and to help us in our journey to holiness. I have composed this prayer little by little over the years and I pray it every morning as part of the prayers I do before getting out of bed. I’m sure I was influenced by many prayers and reflections I read over the years. I hope that you find it fruitful.
“Come Holy Spirit, abide in me.
Come Holy Spirit, into my mind, that I may see the world as God sees it. Give me the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and any other gifts I need to do God’s will.
Come Holy Spirit, into my senses, that I may recognize Jesus in every interaction that I have.
Come Holy Spirit, into my heart, that I may love as Jesus loves.
Come Holy Spirit, into my soul, that I may lead all souls to heaven.
Come Holy Spirit, into my whole being, that I may shine Jesus’ divine light on others.
Come Holy Spirit, abide in me, as I abide in you.
Amen.”
